Food for thought


Does your mood improve when you go on a relaxing vacation? I was just looking at a study that was able to distinguish depressed patients from normal controls based on cortisol levels, with higher cortisol levels being associated with depressed mood. Cortisol is the body’s long-term stress hormone. Stress management and supporting the body with nutrients and herbs in producing healthy cortisol levels are part of my naturopathic approach in addressing depression.
